Historically, many germans called Blue Chamomile “Alles Zutraut”, which means ‘capable of anything’.
German chamomile been shown to decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety all over the world, and is widely used for it’s heavily calming, anti-anxiety, and sedating effect. It is shown to decrease levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), a by-product of stress. It’s thought that other active compounds may also bind to GABA neuroreceptors, further increasing feelings of sedation. It also contains a potent anti-inflammatory chemical compound called Chamazulene, which is what gives the oil its exotic blue color. Chamazulene exhibits relaxant activity that soothes and softens the mind and senses.
