1) NEW YEAR, SAME YOU
In my opinion, the concept of a "new year new you" creates a lot of pressure and anxiety and is also unrealistic. It's as if we were supposed to have woken up in 2018 a brand new person. NOT THE CASE.
Let's make our 2018 intentions to
- connect more deeply with who we already are
- dig deeper into ourselves -- our hopes, dreams, fears, and pains
- see where we are holding back and ask / reach for more
- cultivate the resilience and grace to carry on even when we fail
- develop the ability to be flexible to our changing goals, desires, and truths
2) LOVE YOUR FLAWS
My boyfriend inspired this one when he suggested we "be extra kind to each other and love each other for our flaws" -- real quote! And it's true -- not only in our relationships, but with ourselves. Let's LOVE, NURTURE, and EMBRACE our flaws and show ourselves some kindness and compassion. Doing so is the only way we can heal and grow and learn from those behaviors, as opposed to shaming ourselves, which only exacerbates them.
3) WHEN SH*T HITS THE FAN, GIVE YOURSELF GRACE
Sometimes things don't pan out as expected. Like your phone breaks mid road-trip and you are without one for a week (true story). It's understandable to be triggered, to act out, and to be messy. It happens, okay?! Let yourself get messy and then PAUSE, FORGIVE, and PICK YOURSELF BACK UP, without judgment, please!
4) SELF-LOVE IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT
All of the work of Essential Rose Life is to support and enhance self-love. Why? Because if we don't love ourselves, we do not allow ourselves to be loved. We also don't allow ourselves to truly love others. It's as simple as that. We are also infinitely DESERVING of this love -- no matter who we've been, what we've done, what we haven't done, etc. It is our birthright to celebrate all of the parts of ourselves and in turn celebrate those around us.
5) NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE, NOTHING IS OUT OF REACH
Okay, maybe I'm not going to be a famous basketball player anytime soon, but if I really wanted to maybe I could ;)? The point is, we often get in our own way and limit our own dreams because we fear rather than EXPLORE the impossible. I don't know how, but I know that I will create an entire school around self-care, a charitable organization for mental illness, and become the Oprah of the wellness industry. Because I have that vision, it will unfold. Drop the how and let yourselves go there. That is the first step to manifestation.
